![]() Microsoft Windows 98se / Me / XP:InterActual software is integrated with the most popular DVD player/decoder available- InterVideo WinDVD (released December 2003). The system has to be able to play DVD Video (minimally) to enjoy InterActual Features. To whom should I complain at Lucasfilm, d'you think ? I am really rather highyl POed at the moment it's made watching some interesting material otherwise fraught with problems.InterActual Features can be enjoyed on any Windows computer with a Direct-Show compatible DVD player/decoder and DVD-ROM drive. There is no option to skip the installation insert disk 1 and up it comes with three options, none of which allow bypassing the installation. There's no documentation included in the package.Ħ. Since it's part of a multi-gigabyte DVD disk, and it's free anyway, why the fuck isn't the complete package on the DVD ? Why do I need to spend time d/ling it ?ĥ. It's 4MB or so, which takes around 12 minutes on my 56K connection. The first thing it does if you allow it to connect to the net is encourage you to download a "free upgrade". This is irrelevant in that I have all the browser I need and want in IE. In the UK, the postcode pinpoints your address technically you could put a name, a house number and a postcode on a letter and nothing else and it would still be delivered). It's a pseudo-browser as well, with a less-than ideal "privacy" policy (you need to find a seperate menu to prevent it from sending back "anonymous" details on *what* you're watching to its company servers incidentally, in the UK version of the disk, it asks for your postcode. When using it for the first time, and for fuck's sake, I'm familair with the now-standardised playback controls on AV equipment, my experience was less than enjoyable.ģ. ![]() It's unresponsive to mouse clicks, doesn't like reverse-playback, and in general is a clunky pain in the ass to use. ![]() ![]() And even though it's not actually a DVD player, it wrestles control of DVD playback from whatever you were using anyway. The Interactual package isn't even a DVD player anyway, since it still needs a seperate DVD codec to be installed in order to play back in the first place. It seems that unless the Interactual software is the default player, the 2nd disk won't play. In anyone else unhappy with the POS Interactual software you "need" to install ? Ordinarily, I don't watch too many DVDs, but I was looking forward to TPM because of the deleted scenes and documentaries. ![]()
